Jacques Julin started his mechanical career in 1982 in the United States Navy as an aviation structural mechanic. Next, Jacques then moved on to the local Ford dealer specializing in heavy trucks and or cars. From there he started Julin Automotive in Traverse City from 1997 – 2001. For a time Jacques worked as the lead mechanic at Kenny’s Pioneer Service. He left the automotive repair field for 3.5 years and worked as a heavy equipment mechanic at Basch and Sons in Traverse City, then TC Family auto service and upon their closing Jacques worked at Beta then became part of the Grand Traverse Transmission team in 2014.
Jacques has had a vast array of technical training involving all of today’s newest technology.
He is a dirt track racer mainly at Merit speedway in Lake City Michigan. This affords him the opportunity to showcase his skills at building motors, fabricating chassis, and special suspension components.
He enjoys riding his 1998 Ultra Classic Harley Davidson Motorcycle when time allows. Jacques is a busy guy with all of that but, also is a family man with 7 adult children and 16 great-grandchildren that his wife Penny “Graciously” shares with him.
